SOUTHERN STARS LEADERSHIP

Southern Stars is owned, operated, and directed by Ron Johnson. Johnson hails from Somerset, New Jersey where he played at Franklin High School.

He then played collegiately at Barry University in Miami, Florida. Johnson completed a standout career as the University’s all-time leader in scoring, field goals made, and steals while graduating with a degree in Sports Management. His #12 jersey has been retired at Barry.

Upon graduation, Johnson embarked on a coaching career that has seen him capture five (5) State Championships at four (4) different high schools amassing an overall record of 598-177. Along the way he has helped many players develop the skills and confidence needed to compete at the high school, college, and professional levels. Throughout the course of his career, Johnson's teams have captured numerous Conference and Regional Championships. As a result, he has received multiple Coach of the Year recognitions.

Johnson is currently the Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach and Program Director at Providence Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina.
